What are the materials used in Siddha preparations?

Most resources used in the Siddha system are acquired from renewable natural sources, including medicinal plants, animal and marine products, and naturally occurring geological products. 

There are more than 3,50,000 herbal formulas used in the Siddha system. Approximately 4,000 plants are commonly used, and 2000 plants are used in rare situations.
